Line 6 Pocket Pod User Manual

Line 6 set the guitar world on its collectiveear when they unleashed the originalPOD in 1997. At the time, walking intoany recording studio, guitar shop or earlyadopter’s home resulted in one or moreof the red, kidney-shaped oddities beingthrust into your face, immediately followedby the inevitable proclamation of, “Itsounds exactly like an amp!”
Demonstrating that the trickle-downtheory is at work and thriving in the worldof consumer electronics, the Pocket PODprovides the same 32 amp and 16 effectsmodels available on the POD 2.0 in apint-sized package, but giving up some indepth, standalone editing functions in theprocess. Basic amp models can be editedand saved easily enough, but gettingdown and dirty with cabinet emulationand detailed effects parameters requiresthe freely downloadable Vyzex software.

Line 6, POD, Floor Board, the. No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to. Feb 21, 2015  I've been using the Line 6 Pocket Pod instead. It's so small, it fits nicely on my pedal board. I run a short cable out to a direct box, and monitor thru my IEMs. I have it set up with the Tweed Bassman, just enough gain to be on the edge of distortion. Set it and forget it. All my distortion and FX comes from pedals anyway. So the question! Pilot’s Handbook for version 2.0 software An in-depth exploration of the revolutionary technologies and pulsing tonal pleasures of POD, plus the insider info on the optional Line 6 foot controllers: the Floor Board and FB4. Sans software, setting up your ownsounds and saving them is a breeze andwon’t even require skimming the manualfor previous POD owners; although, likemy experience with previous versions ofthe POD, I found it easier to start at thepoint where I wanted to save, rather thantry to move my new sound to anotherpreset.
The Vyzex software is easy to use andalso enables the user to add presets createdby other PODites, downloadable viaLine 6’s CustomTone.com site. Once thePocket POD is attached to the computervia the included USB cable and the Vyzexsoftware is launched, loading up downloadedpresets is as easy as clicking theOPEN button under the L6T menu up top, then saving by pressing the SAVE buttonon the POD itself.
Crafting homebrew patches with theVyzex software is just as easy; start offwith an amp model on which to baseyour sound, tweak every other parameter– cabinet emulation, effects, effectsorder, reverb parameters and about amillion other things – to your heart’s content, and when everything is buttonedup, hit SAVE on the POD. All edits to thesoftware are sent back to the POD sohaving speakers or a headset plugged into the unit will allow you to monitor yourediting progress.
The Pocket POD sounds really good, andspending some time fine-tuning yourown presets is rewarded with tones thatcan work really well in home recordingsituations, for quickly knocking outarrangements on larger projects or simplyfor an inspired practice session. Does itsound exactlyLine like a Boogie or a blackfaceDeluxe or a JTM45? No, it doesn’t, butit can sound really good, particularly inits ability to obtain an almost ideal tonalityfor a particular track with an absoluteminimum of fuss. Simply set up a fewin-the-ballpark presets, i.e. Fender-y clean,Marshall-y crunch, Boogie-esque lead, etc.then fine tune the EQ settings on the flyto suit the situation. The sounds are convincingenough, and through a nice boardor some good cans, can be truly inspiring.Of course, it will inevitably beg the question:“Is that a POD in your pocket?”

Mod FX

There are 3 Mod FX onboard the Pocket POD Express. These feature our Smart FX

settings. Similar to the Amp Models’ sweep knob, as described on the previous page, when

you turn the Mod FX sweep knob clockwise, the intensity of each effect will increase from

less to more.

For example, listen to the Chorus effect thru your headphones. At the minimum setting,

you’ll hear a slow, smooth stereo chorus. As you turn the knob up towards the maximum

setting, the chorus depth increases, and the speed of the oscillation gets faster and faster.

Likewise with the Tremolo effect. The more you turn the knob clockwise, the faster the

speed of the tremolo.

Flange responds similar to Chorus. The more sweep the knob clockwise, the deeper and

faster the flanging sounds, but still very musical at its maximum setting.

Here’s a list of the Mod FX Models included in your Pocket POD Express:

Chorus

: based on Chorus 1 in POD 2.0, modulated by a square wave

Tremolo Diagnostics pasteur sanofi lp 400 user's manual.

: based on the classic Fender® tremolo effect

Flange

: based on Flanger 1 in POD 2.0, a light flange with no pre-delay
